Cultivating Joy with Ultimate VESTI Ambassador Maritess Arteche

by Martha Rodriguez

Within these challenging times. as business owners, most of us are often asked how we managed to survive 2020.  For me, it was all about the financial and emotional support of my family and friends, friends of friends, loyal and new customers.

One particular woman – a new friend of VESTI – not just showed support in sharing and reposting our pages but also bought one VESTI bag per month.  A commitment in putting forth sales in the business during a high time of uncertainty and global crisis.

She bought more than twelve (12) pieces of bags in 2020.

Maritess Arteche is a Filipino who is based in San Jose, California. She is a highschool batchmate of my mother-in-law and saw our posts online.  I have never met her in person but as we constantly exchanged messages, her energy is full of optimism, jest for life, and adventures.  Truly grateful for her time and here she shares with me her secret in adapting to the ‘new normal’ with joy.

Martha: It seems that you come from a big family, full of love and joy! We’ve been seeing how you are so proud of your children and grandchildren.  That family plays the most important in your life. May we know what’s your secret in cultivating joy?

Maritess: I’m so proud of my children and grandchildren as they are my pride and joy! Family is the most important for me. During birthdays, I call them and greet them. During Christmas and holidays, we would have a family party together with my brothers and sisters with their families and also with my mom. I cultivate joy by doing yoga and doing exercises at home since gyms are closed. Meetings are now in our computers and this is how we navigate our new normal.

Martha: You definitely have a strong sense of style. May we know who influenced you the most with your style and fashion? Who are your style icons? What do you usually look for in a brand?

Maritess: The person who influenced me on style and fashion was my mother.  She looked radiant and glamorous in those days.  She would dress me up when I was little and we would wear the same style when we attended parties.  And I loved it! She would find a little bag and shoes that would match my dress.  She was my favourite fashion and style icon, and that's where I learned fashion.

Martha: We are naming you as the Ultimate VESTI Ambassador! You have clearly bought more VESTI pieces than anyone. What was it that made you fall in love with our pieces? And please share your love stories and favourite VESTI bags?

Maritess: I usually look for the craftmanship and authenticity in a brand. As for the Ultimate Ambassador of VESTI, I love the artistry and craft. It's the perfect high quality. The bags are sophisticated and absolutely unique. I love the disco collection. You can wear them as shoulder strap andcan be worn as belt bag!

It was truly heartwarming for us at VESTI to be able to create relationships, not just with our partner suppliers and the indigenous groups we work with, but most importantly with our beloved patrons. Their support inspire us to keep going and improve the different facets of our brand. It truly feels like family to us.

It will always be our pride to share moments and stories of the people who support VESTI and our goals. We highlight them in our channels as VESTI Superstars or write down a piece here in our blog. It will always be a labour of love and gratitude.
